Yin Myofascial Release incorporates Yin Yoga with fascial release techniques to release constricted tissues and enhance practice by fixing trouble spots using self-myofascial release props like foam rollers and therapy balls. Yin Myofascial Release targets energy channels, which are also known as nerve endings in western medicine, nadis in Indian medicine, and meridians in Traditional Chinese Medicine. These energy channels run through our fascia. With a similar concept of acupressure/acupuncture or trigger points release, it works by gently massaging the connective tissue and breaking up any blockages so that our energy can flow or move more freely. Both emotional and physical stress and strain causes the fascia to tighten and over time this results in various aches, pains and stiffness. Our body is a kinetic chain. If one joint is not working efficiently, then another joint will compensate. This leads to muscle imbalances, tissue overload, fatigue, and injuries, especially referral pain. Myofascial release helps avoid these imbalances by keeping your joints healthy and hydrated. Session is great for sports athletes to release their muscles and improve ROM, perfect for working executives with neck and back tension, or anyone who wants a great release from overall tension from their body! No experience is required. All are welcome. Yoga mats and myofascial props will be provided.
